Toucans

After centuries of folk songs written on acoustic guitars, where do you begin to write something that stands out from the rest? i believe that to write a new song which is all at once both fresh and nostalgic takes a hell of a lot of talent. And lucky me, i have one right here.

Toucans is a one man band fuelled by coffee, beer and a love of analogue,and this track God Knows I Tried is what i hope to be the first of many new recordings.

God Knows I Tried is a song which we've all had in our heads, but never had the heart to sing. Luckily, Toucans sing it with enough heart for all of us. The gritty distortion pushes country folk into new pastures, whilst deep, rhyming lyrics and rythmic acoustic guitar bring it back to that genre that we all know and love.

Don't think it's going to stop at the lo-fi folk- this guy is full of surprises. with a background of writing spanning from hard-core glitchy math rock to folk rock to stripped down country folk; This is a Toucan of many talents...

Keep your ear to the ground, Toucans are going places.

I think this London charm bracelet is just ace. Iv just put it up on my etsy and i'm so in love with it! Ishould be able to name all the famous monuments on it, but unfortunately my British trivial knowledge is not up to scratch, The queen would be disappointed.

My first handmade item coming up soon on B.Y.B.S.... i think i have just created the very dress i have always wanted since i was about 6 years old. made from a vintage sequin boob tube and a pink tutu i made, this is the kind of party dress that fairytales are made from. please excuse my thunder thighs in the picture... will definately have to get a model for my shop sooon...

New bag up on etsy! i'm still fiddling around trying to get the look of my shop right, so everytime you have looked at it it's probably different... it's really been a struggle to get it looking right! anyway.. i think i'm getting there now.

Next gig.... Thee Oh Sees

Me and a group of friends will be heading up to london on 5th June to see Thee Oh Sees, should be awesome. They're the kind of band that you listen to, then pick up the phone and your guitar, call your friends and insist that you start rehersing again. I will post a blog about how the gig goes when i get back for people who cant make it.
